A Barbershop custom is a custom unlike any other. While they range from mild to wild, my effort is always to make each one unique. My particular style has been described as “factory”, though I assure you it is anything but.

Each and every custom goes through an extensive prep process, where it is taken apart as much as possible. Each piece is thoroughly cleaned, to remove any residue left from the molding process, as well as oils left behind from handling. Parts are inspected for imperfections from the molding process, and any major blemishes are removed. Once ready, everything is primed for maximum paint adhesion. All base coats are then evenly applied using an airbrush, and allowed to cure. Then all details are either masked and airbrushed, or carefully applied by hand, and again allowed to cure. After all paint apps are complete, every piece is sealed for maximum protection, and allowed to cure for 3-7 days, depending on the type of paint used.

The “factory look” I achieve comes from my effort to make every custom look as if it was supposed to be that way. If I find something I’m not happy with, I’ll start over until its right. Basically, if I won’t display it on my shelf, I won’t send it to you to put on yours.

Though I have made revisited some works, or made multiples of one particular custom, no 2 are ever alike. I do not repeat my own work, nor will I ever “copy” another artist’s work. This is something I will not compromise, in order to maintain the 1-of-a-kind nature of each piece.
